"See the World" Layout - VIDEO TUTORIAL - Scraps of Darkness "The Wayfarer Kit"

Hello folks!  I hope you all are doing well.  After a pretty hectic month, I was finally able to complete a mixed media layout titled "See the World" using July's Scraps of Darkness "The Wayfarer Kit" and the Elements Add-On Kit.  I made a video tutorial for it as well, and you can find that at the bottom of my blog entry or by clicking here.

Here is a preview of "The Wayfarer Kit" and the Elements Add-On Kit:

This kit was absolutely perfect for the pictures of my newest nephew Otto Natale.  I got to go up to Pennsylvania recently to visit family and it is just amazing how much he has already grown up!

Using various Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays on the Blue Fern Studios Wanderlust Artisan Collection paper matched the adorable blanket he is wrapped in.  I used a 49 and Market embellishment wreath on the center of my page.

The Blue Fern Studios' Fern Leaves Chipboard helped to frame the pictures really well.  I also loved using the two wooden clips to attach the pictures together!  That is something I have never done before.

The Prima Traveler's Journal Ephemera and Stickers pack came with two stickers that said "See the World", so I attached one by the pictures and the smaller sticker by the top flower.

Thank you for taking a look at my new layout today!  Here is my video tutorial for this layout, mostly in fast forward.  Hope you enjoy the video!

Don't forget to see the newest Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance Kits on the online store. Also, more amazing inspiration from the design team can be found on the Scraps of Darkness blog. Take care everyone!

"Now" Layout - Scraps of Darkness "Wayfarer" Kit!

Hello my friends!  I was super excited to start to use the new July Scraps of Darkness "Wayfarer" Main Kit along with the Elements Add On Kit for my new layout titled "Now".  I recently got some amazing pictures of my beautiful second nephew Otto, and I could not wait to use this awesome kit for these pictures.

Here are the previews of the Wayfarer Kit and Elements Add On Kit:

The little bit of red in the background of my picture was perfect for the tiny bits of red in the 49 and Market Dragonfly Revolution Layered Embellishments from the Elements Add On Kit.

The beautiful green paper from the Blue Fern Studios' Wonderlust Collection along with the Chipboard went along really well with my Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst colors "My Mojito Green" and "Ponderosa Pines Olive" that I used in the background.  I added a bit of 13@rts white SPLASH! ink with water to the "My Mojito Green" so that I can make it more of a matte finish.  To add depth to my background, I used one of the Hot Off The Press Compass Stamps with my StazOn black ink pad.

Part of the subtle layers in my background was using Liquitex Matte Gel Medium with the Prima Traveler's Journal Ephemera from the main kit.

I also used one of the Prima Ephemera Stickers for my title on top of the picture.

Finally, I have to point out these 49 and Market Flowers from the main kit... The elegant and vintage pop of yellow completely pulled the project together to my surprise.  This is the exact reason I first subscribed to the Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance monthly kits.  I never in a thousand years would have realized this amazing color scheme of the flowers with the papers and other embellishments without having this kit put together for me.  I don't think I could have come up with a better color scheme than this on my own.

Anyhow, that's about it!  For more design team inspiration and tutorials, check the Scraps of Darkness blog here.  Thanks for taking a look and have a fabulous day!
